Located at 401 Park Avenue is The Union House, one of the earliest hotels in Galena.  Believed to be built in the 1820s, the oldest part of the building was a log cabin that accommodated four travelers.  it was eventually expanded, and included an Inn and Tavern.  In 1855, the contents were auctioned off due to the poor health of the proprietor.
